Inga Kristina Trauthig

Research Fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and PhD Candidate at King's College, King's College London

Academic qualifications: B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Wuerzburg and the University of Texas at Austin. Master’s programme “Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asian Security Studies” during which I developed a keen interest in thorough research on Islamist groups in the three regions. Now, research fellow at the ICSR and PhD student at the Department of War Studies at King’s College focusing on Islamist groups in post-Qaddafi Libya.

Professional qualifications: Worked as consultant for IT tech firms (focus: hate speech online) in Berlin and for the NGO B’Tselem in Jerusalem (selection of professional activities).

Contributing to The Conversation attracts me in a twofold way: first of all, I am eager to share my thoughts and insights on topics/parts of the world that do not usually get the spotlight attention. Furthermore, I am looking forward to being challenged in adapting my academic writing style when writing on these topics.
