Professor of Sociology, Korea University

I was born in South Korea but spent most of my adult life in the US, New Zealand, Japan, Cyprus, and the UK, teaching and researching at various universities, including Univ. of Oregon, Waikato University, Ritsumeikan University, UC Berkeley, Middle East Technical University, Bristol Business School, Yonsei University, Hanyang University, and Korea University. My PhD is in Sociology from U. of Oregon, and I have extensively published academic works in the area of Korean and Japanese big business, state-business relations, Asian management, international business, technological innovation, migration and diaspora, cultural industries, and feminine cultural phenomena. I am currently working on feminine social contagion among Hallyu (Korean Wave) fans.
