I am a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth and Deputy Director of the Centre for Interaction, Development and Diversity (@UoP_CIDD). I joined Portsmouth University in 2016. Before that I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Paderborn and Bielefeld University in Germany. My interest in language as social coordination led me to my PhD project which I completed in Bielefeld, Germany in 2015 on the interactional foundations of language development. Before that I studied Languages and Linguistics at the Ionian University, Greece and worked as a translator.
My work is all about understanding how infants learn language within everyday activities with other people. I am particularly interested in the interplay between language and bodily experience for the development of meaning.
