Ivan Oransky, MD, is Distinguished Writer In Residence at the Arthur Carter Journalism Institute at New York University, and co-founder of the MacArthur Foundation and Arnold Foundation-funded Retraction Watch. He is also editor at large of MedPage Today, and is vice president of the Association of Health Care Journalists. In the past, Oransky has been executive editor of Reuters Health, managing editor, online, of Scientific American, and deputy editor of The Scientist. Oransky earned his bachelor's degree at Harvard University, where he was executive editor of The Harvard Crimson, and earned his M.D. at the New York University of School of Medicine, where he holds an appointment as clinical assistant professor of medicine.
