PhD Candidate, Boston University

Jacob Negrey is a PhD candidate studying the interface of health, hormones, and behaviour in wild chimpanzees. His work takes him to Kibale National Park, Uganda, where he studies the unusually large Ngogo chimpanzee community.

For his dissertation, Jacob is exploring the impacts of social status and social relationship quality on the secretion of reproductively and immunologically pertinent hormones, the ways in which social interactions challenge the immune system, and how hormone and immune patterns change over the lifespan.
