Senior Lecturer in Criminology, Sheffield Hallam University

I have been a Lecturer in Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University since 2012. Prior to this I completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge. My PhD focused on the practice and practice ideals of probation practitioners in the context of widespread changes in policy with a view to examining how these changes had played out in practice. My expertise thus lies in probation and community penalties as well as broader penological issues around the use of punishment and the prison.

Prior to doing my PhD I worked in various roles in the community with offenders. I also have an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Edinburgh University.
