Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography of the University of the Philippines Diliman, Philippines with a PhD in Geography and Spatial Planning and a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities. Professional specialties include disaster risk reduction and management and sustainable development. Skilled in community work and conduct of participatory methods and tools involving different stakeholders and community members particularly marginalized sectors (i.e. women, older people, ethnic minorities, etc.). Experienced in research writing and conduct of qualitative and quantitative methods. Fieldwork experiences in countries such as The Philippines, France, Indonesia, and Cape Verde. Involvement in research projects and community-based activities funded by local and international NGOs and institutions (i.e. Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, Save The Children, GIZ, Oxford Policy Management, and several NGOs in the Philippines).
