Lecturer in Financial Technology, University of Strathclyde

James joined Strathclyde Business School as a Lecturer in Financial Technology in 2019. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance (University of Dundee) and his doctorate research investigated relationships between online financial message board postings and abnormal trading activity in shares listed on the AIM submarket of London Stock Exchange. James holds an MSc in Investment Analysis (University of Stirling), and a BA (Hons) in International Business (Nottingham Trent University). He teaches Corporate Financing at honours year level, and is programme director of the MSc Financial Technology.

James's research has previously been published in the European Journal of Finance and the Journal of Comparative Economics, and he has reviewed articles for top-tier academic journals. His previous professional experience includes Russell Investments (now FTSE Russell) and Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc.
