James is a fluvial geomorphologist with a keen interest in both the science and management of waterways in Australia. His research has extended from riverbank erosion and floodplain evolution to innovative approaches to stream rehabilitation. Current research is focused on gully erosion in the Great Barrier Reef catchments across a range of projects.
