Dr Jinzhe (James) Gong is passionate about solving pressing issues in the water industry through innovation. His key research interests and expertise include Smart Water Network design and data analytics, leak and burst management in water distribution systems, and health monitoring and condition assessment of civil infrastructure. James is currently a Senior Lecturer in Water Engineering at Deakin University (Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus).

Prior to joining Deakin University, James worked as a Data Analytics Engineer in South Australian Water Corporation (SA Water) for the Adelaide City Smart Water Network project, and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide.
