Dr Jane Chambers is the Academic Chair of Environmental Science, Management and Sustainability at Murdoch University. She has over 30 years experience in wetlands, rivers and estuaries in South Western Australia primarily in the area of aquatic plant ecology, management and restoration. She has contributed to national and state advisory panels on topics from climate change to mining rehabilitation. She was deputy chair of the Swan River Trust and is a keen supporter of community groups. She has supervised over 50 research students, presented widely at international and national conferences and in publications, including co-authoring the only Australian textbook on freshwater ecology.
