Adjunct associate, UNSW Sydney

Dr Jaz Lawes is a multidisciplinary impact ecologist, passionate science communicator and published researcher, committed to understanding our interactions with the environment. Jaz has over 10 years’ experience spanning university and industry sectors and is the principal researcher at Surf Life Saving Australia and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer within the School of BEES at UNSW. Jaz is responsible for coordinating a diverse portfolio of coastal safety research projects that investigate interactions between humans and the environment. Jaz believes evidence informed awareness and education strategies are the most effective tool to transform attitudes and change behaviours along Australia's coast. Jaz is gaining recognition within coastal safety in Australia with her capacity to engage in multi-disciplinary research and to adapt in a flexible research environment being central to this success.
