Jean-Pierre Macquart passed away in 2020.
He worked at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, Curtin University and was a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics.
He particularly liked working at the interface between observational and theoretical astrophysics, having come to the realisation that a good grasp of theory is necessary to understand your own observations, and that you need to be able to undertake your own observations to test your own theories.
