Associate Professor, Victoria University

I have worked as an educator, advocate and manager in tertiary education (vocational and higher education) four over four decades. My focus has been in tertiary education reform, gender studies, community development, environmental sustainability and labour studies. I have held many roles at Victoria University including Deputy Dean, Faculty of Arts, Education and Human Development. I am currently Head, Community Programs in the College of Arts, Business, Law, Education and IT and Chair, Quality Teaching and Learning Committee of Academic Board. I was the full time national president of the National Tertiary Education Union, 2010-2018. In 2023, I was invited by the Minister for Skills and Training, to develop a Roadmap for TAFE South Australia for the next ten years. The 96 page report was released in full by the South Australian Government in early August adopting the 6 Goals and announcing some immediate reforms. The Roadmap is framing the development of the TAFESA Strategic Plan for the next decade.
