Jen Harvie

I come from Toronto and did my BA at Montreal's McGill University, my MA in Ontario, and my PhD at the University of Glasgow. I have been based in London since 1994 and in the Drama Department at Queen Mary University of London since 2004. I am a former Head of Department and currently Director of Research.

My research interests are in the cultural politics of contemporary theatre, performance and art. I am interested in feminism and performance, performance and the city, cultural policy and arts funding, and the relationships of art and performance to social justice and neoliberal capitalism. My most recent monograph is Fair Play - Art, Performance and Neoliberalism, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2013.
