Research Assistant, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, Brock University

Coming from a background in health sciences, I am parent researcher currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Community Health at Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario. My research has a social justice focus with a particular interest in disability, specifically intellectual disability, and Down syndrome. I have had the opportunity to be immersed in the disability community through my engagement as a learning facilitator at Niagara College, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, where I work in the role of learning facilitator in the Cooperative Education for Community Integration (CICE) programme. I am committed to knowledge translation made possible through my role as researcher and physical activity expert for Down Syndrome Niagara and DS21, organizations dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome through education, connection, and advocacy.
