Jenny Wüstenberg

Associate Professor, Twentieth Century History, Nottingham Trent University

Trained as a political scientist and historian, my research has focused on the involvement of grassroots movements in memory politics (memory activism), as well as on transnational and relational perspectives on how we commemorate our pasts. My current research project examines comparatively how state-driven family separation and institutional child abuse is remembered, including in the US, Canada, Australia, East Germany and elsewhere. I am one of the co-founders and current Co-Presidents of the Memory Studies Association (https://www.memorystudiesassociation.org/) and the Chair of the COST Action on Slow Memory (2021-25).
