Dr Shaw is based at UWA's Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation and Analysis and focuses on the use of cutting-edge optical, electron and X-ray microscopy techniques to explore a wide range of biological phenomenon. Originally trained as a marine biologist, Dr Shaw currently works in the field of magnetoreception where he hopes to unravel one of biology's great unsolved mysteries..
