Jessica Pratezina

Jessica Pratezina is a PhD student in Interdisciplinary Studies (Child and Youth Care and Sociology) at the University of Victoria. Her PhD project is a study of gender equality in prenatal preparation. She researches and teaches in the areas of father involvement, early child development, and child and youth care theory and practice. She is one of the few academics who specializes in children in alternative/ new religious movements and was a graduate fellow at the Centre for Studies in Religious and Society (2019-2020). She has over a decade of experience as a front-line practitioner working with vulnerable families.
