Professor of Interior Design and Architecture, Florida State University

I am an NCIDQ-certified interior designer and accredited professional of the WELL building standard. I have taught interior architecture & design courses for 23 years including architectural lighting, studio, theory, and graduate seminars. I conduct and disseminate research and information about the effective design of homes and facilities that assist unhoused persons, including through the non-profit organization I lead called Design Resources for Homelessness (designresourcesforhomelessness.org) I have served as the national president of the interior architecture and design academic organization Interior Design Educators Council and on the national board of the American Society of Interior Designers. In 2015 I was selected as one of twenty top architecture, interior design and landscape interior design educators by DesignIntelligence. My published books include Sketching Interiors at the Speed of Thought (with Jim Dawkins) and Interior Design: Strategies for Teaching and Learning, both with Fairchild/Bloomsbury.
