Jo-Ann Pattinson

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Leeds

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Leeds. My PhD investigated the regulation of online abuse and social media. I am a socio-legal researcher interested in how technology affects people and society, and how the regulation of that technology creates its own impact, whether that be by traditional institutional methods or by architectural means.

I am also an experienced litigation and dispute resolution solicitor. My career began in 2001 as a barrister and solicitor in the Northern Territory of Australia, and in 2008 I re-qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.

I am currently at the Institute for Transport Studies working upon the legal issues associated with autonomous vehicles.
