Dr Carlini is an early career researcher and lecturer in the Department of Marketing. Dr Carlini’s scholarly work specialises in the intersection of business, government and society, with a particular focus on consumer behaviour. She has extensive research experience focusing on high impact projects resulting in social and economic benefits.

For the past 2.5 years Dr Carlini has chaired the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Consumer Advisory Group (CAG), whose members actively work with Gold Coast Hospital to provide a consumer voice in the design, delivery and planning of health services. Her involvement as a health consumer is both practical and academic. She works cross disciplinary with researchers from the Menzies Health Institute Queensland in a program of research in service innovation including, health consumers as value co-creators, end of life care, complex care and wound care.

Through research, strategic engagement and successful partnering, Dr Carlini is an emerging leader in health consumer engagement. The combination of research and health consumer advocacy brings a distinct opportunity for advancement in health consumer engagement as well as cross-disciplinary advantage.
