Senior Lecturer in Design and Architecture, University of Technology Sydney

Joanne Jakovich is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, UTS, and co-founder of the u.lab interdisciplinary innovation hub at UTS. Joanne is a design educator and researcher exploring the intersection of collective creativity and cities. Her work has been exhibited in Japan, Australia, Taiwan and The Netherlands, both in architectural and artistic contexts, including the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, and the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. She is the catalyst and producer of a new generation of urban engagement projects spanning entrepreneurship, social innovation and architecture, including the BikeTank in Sydney, and the CitySwitch Japan-Australia urban revitalisation workshop series. She obtained her PhD from the University of Sydney and Masters in Environmental Studies from the University of Tokyo.
