Jochen Gläser

I am a sociologist of science who is mainly interested in the impact of institutional structures on the knowledge production processes in scientific communities. In this context, I have worked on the impact of political structures on research in the GDR, compared the impact of evaluation systems in Australia and Germany, and looked at academic careers. My current research projects address the impact of phases of unemployment and lockdown on academic careers as well as forms and effects of failure in scientific research.
