Faculty Lecturer, McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, McGill University

Dr. Jodey Nurse is a faculty lecturer at the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada at McGill University. Previously, she was a research assistant professor in the Department of History at the University of Waterloo and a past L.R. Wilson Assistant Professor at the Wilson Institute for Canadian History at McMaster University. Her current research focuses on the history of Canada's supply-managed dairy, egg, and poultry industries. A central feature of this work is an examination of the asymmetrical power relations that exist among stakeholders in agricultural marketing systems and the polarized agricultural policies that have emerged in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Nurse also studies and writes about women in agricultural organizations and rural society more generally.
