Dr Joe Burton is Professor of International Security in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion (PPR) at Lancaster University. He joined the university in 2023 as part of the Security and Protection Science initiative.
His expertise is in the area of cyber conflict and emerging technologies. He teaches courses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, strategic studies and international security and works on an interdisciplinary research agenda on cybersecurity, cyber-warfare, and cyber-diplomacy.
