Personal Profile:

Professor Joe Goldblatt, FRSA holds the world's only professorial chair in planned events management and served as the founding president of the International Special Events Society (ISES). He is the author of the first international certification examination for the special events industry and is the author, co author and editor of thirty books in the field of events management education including the first published text book in the field.

He has received life time achievement awards from the International Special Events Society and Special Events Magazine. He was one of the first inductees into the Special Events Industry Hall of Fame. Russia awarded him the Silver Medal for lifetime creative contributions to the events industry.

He is was awarded a Certificate of Lifetime Achievement in the Global Event Industry from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and is Honorary Professor of Glorious Sun School of Business and Management, Donghua University in Shanghai, China.

Professor Goldblatt has delivered speeches and workshops in Almaty, Kazakhstan; Beijing, China; Glasgow, Scotland; Hong Kong, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, England; Manila, Philippines; Melbourne, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Moscow, Russia; Oslo, Norway; Port of Spain, Porto, Portugal; Stockholm, Sweden; Trinidad; Sydney, Australia; Shanghai, China; Toronto, Canada; and throughout the United States of America.

He was selected as the Event Educator of the Year by the Professional Convention Management Association and honoured as the distinguished alumnus by his undergraduate college. He was the first educator to be inducted into the International Festivals and Events Association Hall of Fame. In 2012 he was selected by the 6000 students of Queen Margaret University to receive the first Most Memorable Teaching Award in the 136 year history of the University.
