Joe Perry is associate professor of modern European and German history at Georgia State University and the author of Christmas in Germany: A Cultural History (2010). His scholarly interests focus on the interactions between politics and popular celebration. Professor Perry is currently writing a book about electronic dance music and the Berlin Love Parade.
