John Kendall Hawkins

I am an American ex-pat poet and freelance journalist and lifelong student currently residing in Oceania. I'm a Ph. D. student in philosophy at the University of New England (Australia) researching the future of human consciousness in the age of AI. I have a fascination with panpsychism and with brain-computer interfaces. Elon Musk has said he sees a day when humans, by means of BCI, will be able to communicate thought only (or a form of telepathy). From what I have been researching, I believe him. My research encompasses the electromagnetic composition of the Internet, and the biochemical signalling of the brain, and the nature of mind and consciousness, and phenomenology and aesthetics, and, of course, ethics.

My written work has appeared in publications around the world, including The Philosopher, Rumpus, Counterpunch, Cordite Poetry, and the Australian.
