John Symons

Dr John Symons is an environmental economist who is currently working on a project for the Bushfire and Natural Hazard CRC developing a national economic geography of vulnerability. He is a research Fellow in the Victorian Institute for Strategic Economic Studies (VISES).

He is also undertaking research with several local governments developing an economic framework for green infrastructure.

John did his PhD on the business case for voluntary emissions reductions using mathematical modelling techniques and has extensive experience teaching environmental studies, physics and maths.
