Emeritus Professor of Applied Meteorology, University of Birmingham

John Thornes is Emeritus Professor of Applied meteorology in the University of Birmingham's School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. His
expertise includes meterology, climate, atmospheric sciences and climate variability. Projects include looking at the impact of climate change and air pollution on ambulance response times and Atmospheric Art, interpreting the representation of weather, climate and skies in landscape and environmental art. In February 2017 he published A Reassessment of the Solar Geometry of Constable's Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows.
