Senior Research Associate in the Department of Geography, Durham University

Jon Warren is a sociologist who is currently Senior Research Associate in Health inequalities, Department of Geography, Durham University.
His research interests are work, employment, social policy and the industrial history of the North East of England. Jon is involved with methodologically innovative research and is currently involved with projects using Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) and Visual methods. He has published work in the fields of disability studies, public health policy and the sociology of work. Jon was previously part of the School of Applied Social Sciences where at Durham where he taught Sociology and Social Work. Jon undertook his doctoral studies on work life relations in the call centre industry in the UK and India. Prior to coming to Durham Jon was a lecturer in Community and Youth Studies at Sunderland University and also a researcher for the Office for National Statistics.

Jon is currently managing a major project Project Manager for a four year longitudinal survey of health inequalities in Stockton on Tees. This is part of a wider 5 year Leverhulme trust funded study. His previous work in this position includes managing a 3 year research project evaluating a major Worklessness and Health initiative commissioned by the NHS/ Public health in County Durham.
