Jonathan Gardner is Professor of Marine Biology at Victoria University of Wellington. Much of his work is focussed on using molecular tools to better understand connectivity in marine species. This research is multi-disciplinary and involves ecologists and physical oceanographers, and has a very applied focus to deliver management outcomes in conservation (e.g., coastal and deep-sea marine protected areas), in biodiversity studies and phylogeography, management of bioinvasions, and in aquaculture and fisheries.
