Josefine Hirschfeld

Academic Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry, University of Birmingham

Josefine Hirschfeld is currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry. She started her specialty training in Restorative Dentistry at the Birmingham Dental Hospital in April 2016 and has a special interest in periodontology, a discipline concerned with diseases of the gums.

Apart from her clinical work, she undertakes research in the fields of oral immunology and oral microbiology, focussing on the causes and possible new treatments of periodontitis.

She also takes part in teaching BDS students in clinical Restorative Dentistry.
