Josh's research interests include paleoseismology, active tectonics, structural geology, landscape evolution, natural hazards, engineering geology, and the Anthropocene.

He received his M.Sc. in geological sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and B.Sc. from the Pennsylvania State University.
