Judith Sleeman

Judith Sleeman is a former Royal Society University Research Fellow with key interests in the physical organisation of RNA processing in mammalian cells and the impact of this on human disease. Leading on from early work into the cellular organisation of splicing snRNP maturation, research in the Sleeman lab has expanded to include cytoplasmic transport of mRNA and the effects on cellular structure of triplet repeat disorders. Current projects in the group investigate the cellular and molecular basis of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 and Amyetrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Key techniques include live-cell and high-resolution microscopy and proteomics.
