Julia McCartan is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 14 years of experience working in roles that have focused on public health nutrition, food systems research and health promotion project management. She has overseen the implementation of food security and food systems projects in Victoria, Central Australia and the Kingdom of Tonga.
In her current role at Monash University, she has led the data collection for a longitudinal study to monitor food cost in Victorian communities. She has research interests in systems-based and community coalition approaches to improve local food environments and fostering the Indigenous cultural capabilities of health professional students.
