Senior Lecturer in Psychology, University of East London

A senior lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of East London, I developed and now run a MSc in Career Coaching. I teach and supervise students on a wide range of career topics, and have a particular interest in the career paths of women.

I'm currently doing my PhD on the idea of 'Possible Selves' and the role they can play in helping people to make better career decision. I am also involved in a strand of research which explores the role that appearance and attractiveness play in people's career paths.

I am passionate about using research to enhance practice and I write, speak and run workshops on the applications of theory to career work. Two years ago I published The Career Coaching Handbook, a practitioner guide to the theory and practice of career coaching, and I am currently writing The Career Coach's Toolkit as more practical companion guide. I am a fellow of the National Institute of Career Education and Counselling and of the Higher Education Academy.
