Julie Brimblecombe

Senior Research Fellow, Menzies School of Health Research

Julie has worked cross-culturally in the South Pacific and with remote Aboriginal communities in Australia for 23 years. Julie is a Senior Research Fellow with Menzies School of Health Research and leads the nutrition research team in the Wellbeing and Preventable Chronic Diseases Division. She was awarded a NHMRC Public Health Fellowship in 2009 and since this has developed a significant research program in the area of Indigenous nutrition. Her research programme focuses on population dietary interventions and determinants of healthy eating and building capacity to support remote communities lead decision-making for nutrition improvement. She is currently leading the SHOP@RIC trial which is assessing the effect of a price discount on fruit and vegetables, diet drinks and water on store food purchases.
