Dr Kali Marnane is a registered architect who researches informal settlements, everyday architecture, place meaning, and neighbourhood planning. She specialises in embedding community voices in design by combining qualitative data, ethnographic techniques, and architectural analysis. Key projects to date include informal housing and its significance to women residents in Ahmedabad (India), youth perceptions of public space in Logan (Queensland), staff and student engagement for the Indigenous Design Framework at The University of Queensland, and housing adequacy for Indigenous residents in Gununa (Mornington Island).
