Kanchana Kariyawasam

Associate Professor, Griffith University

Kanchana Kariyawasam is a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University and an Adjunct Research Fellow for the Australian Centre for Intellectual Property in Agriculture (ACIPA). Kanchana's primary research interests lie in the field of intellectual property (IP) law and her publications are in the fields of intellectual property and consumer Law. Kanchana completed her PhD in IP Law at Griffith and holds Masters Degree in IP from the University of Queensland. She has published widely on copyright law and information technology, patent law and biotechnology, access to medicines, intellectual property and climate change, and Indigenous Intellectual Property. She is currently working with Professor Leanne Wiseman on the Right to Repair. Prior to joining Griffith University, she was employed at UQ as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
