Dr Karen Rial-Lovera is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BSc(Hons) in Agriculture at the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences.
Karen's research focuses on sustainable agricultural systems, with an emphasis on soil-crop interactions in response to climate change. She has led international projects in Sub-Saharan Africa considering rural development and farmers’ engagement towards sustainable intensification and food self-sufficiency in the region. Previous work has also looked into the adoption and applicability of automation technologies in agriculture with an emphasis on remote sensing.
