Dr Kate Brandis is a joint research fellow at the Centre for Ecosystem Science, UNSW and Australian Nuclear Science Technology Organisation. Dr Brandis is a waterbird and wetland ecologist working on a range of issues including the reproductive ecology of colonial waterbirds, the management of environmental flows for waterbird outcomes, long-term monitoring of waterbird populations and tracking waterbird movements. Her work is predominantly applied research providing input into water management, wetland management and policy. Dr Brandis’ most recent project involves using nuclear techniques to track waterbird movements around Australia with the aim of improving wetland management and waterbird populations
