Katherine has worked in the climate change area as a lawyer and policy advisor in the public and private sectors since 2004. She worked at the (then) Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency during the development of the clean energy future package, in particular focusing on Australia's mitigation commitments and the development of carbon market policy.

Her work at international law firms has focussed on advising governments, companies and councils on the implications of climate change regulation as well as on the opportunities under federal and state emission reduction programs, such as emissions trading and energy efficiency schemes.
