Katherine Lawrence is an Associate Professor and Clinical Psychologist with the School of Psychological Sciences and the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Katherine is the Course Convenor of the PhD (Clinical Psychology) program and leads the Child, Youth, Family Clinic at the Turner Clinics that provides specialist clinical services to the community and clinical training to postgraduate psychology students.
Katherine is an experienced practitioner and clinical educator with over 16 years of experience working with children, youth and families across community, hospital, and research settings in Australia and the UK. She is a specialist in the treatment of childhood anxiety and working with parents to support the mental health and well-being of young people. Katherine has over 10 years of experience in supervising psychology trainees on placement and has provided specialist training to postgraduate psychology programs at Oxford University and the University College of London and courses run by the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and the Improved Access to Psychological Therapies initiative. At Monash, she leads the training of intervention skills for both the clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology postgraduate programs. Katherine has cultivated industry connections with leading hospitals and health services, and guided other clinical training programs nationally and internationally on best-practice approaches to clinical training.
