Kathleen McPhillips

I am a sociologist of religion and gender and have written extensively on women, religion, the church and the state. My PhD was an ethnography of a feminist religious movement and a critique of social theory in religion which failed to adequately understand the position of women in religious organisations. I lecture in social theory, the sociology of mental health, social anthropology, gender studies and the sociology of religion.
