I have broad research interests around sexual health and infectious disease. Particularly though, I am interested in how people perceive the risk of infection (e.g. from sexually transmitted infections, flu etc) and whether/how this influences protective behaviour (e.g. condom use, vaccination).

My work in this area also includes examining how to best measure risk and its association with behaviour. I am also interested in the development and evaluation of health behaviour change interventions, particularly methods of development, specification of Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs), and identifying mechanisms of effect. I am also interested in research ethics and an active member of the faculty ethics and governance committee.
