Keith Mc Loughlin

Associate Lecturer in History, University of Exeter

I am a political and social historian of twentieth century Britain. My research investigates how policy is shaped by outside interest groups, from big business to trade unionists. I specialise in the history of British foreign and economic policy, the development of the British Left and peace movements in Britain in the twentieth century. My teaching encourages students to avail of the broad range of primary and secondary sources available to them on Britain's recent past and to challenge their assumptions of contemporary British history, in particular the notion of 'decline'. I teach on undergraduate modules and supervise research projects at postgraduate level.
