Associate Professor Keith Townsend has a demonstrated and sustained track record of research funding success and international publications. He has published three edited books, more than forty journal articles, and received more than $1.3 million in Australian Research Council funding. Dr Townsend is often asked to speak at practitioner conferences demonstrating his capacity to drive an academic career that spans the double hurdle of scholarly rigor and practitioner relevance.

Associate Professor Townsend’s research spans a wide range of areas including a focus on line managers (including front line managers), employee involvement and participation in decision-making, industrial relations and human resource management, working time and work-life balance, and employee misbehaviour and resistance. These broad themes are brought together with an overarching approach to better understanding the complexities of managing people within the modern workplace.
