I study rhetoric and symbols about Native American people. I have studied legal and cultural controversies about Native American whaling, representations in museums, and protest strategies against DAPL. Currently, I am writing a book about the arguments and rhetoric about Native American sports mascots. I have made several academic presentations about this research so far.
